Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu has revealed that the country is running out of bed spaces.

During today's briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Ihekweazu noted that this is a big challenge on their hands.

"We have a big challenge regarding bed capacity in the country. The reality of cases is difficult. We have 158 new cases in Lagos. This means more bed spaces. It is not easy to increase bed spaces. We are considering a few scenarios. We are struggling with the bed capacity in every state," a frantic NCDC boss confessed.

On the part of testing kits, the NCDC DG said about 30,000 kits were on ground.

"We had +/- 30,000 samples at the moments. We don't keep them in the warehouses. You just buy as you need. You don't store it up due to its nature," Ihekweazu responded.
