Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has expressed the Super Eagles' readiness for their friendly encounter against Russia.

The Sbornaya will welcome the Super Eagles to the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday, October 6.

It will be the second time the two teams have met since June last year, after playing out a 1-1 draw at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Eric Chelle's side will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways following their 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, the Malian tactician stated that the team is motivated even with some key players missing from the squad.

"Some clubs don't want the players to come. We have to manage the situation.

"We lost our last game, and the expectation for this game is to give the new players the opportunity to show what they can do," Chelle told reporters on Monday.

"We are motivated. The players want to win, and they want to give their best for the jersey and the country."
