A video showing the moment troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) discovered and destroyed a bread factory at a hideout of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno has emerged on social media.

The video showed the moment army tanks destroyed the factory and other facilities of the insurgents.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region revealed the factory was discovered on April 21. The publication noted that the factory was established at Maisani, Timbuktu Triangle in Damboa LGA of the state.

Intelligence sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama said the bread factory was destroyed by troops of Operation Lake Sanity III and Operation Hadin Kai.

The source indicated the operation lasted for one week with several terrorists killed, adding that most of them were dislodged from their hideouts.

One source added that the troops recovered “Lister generating plants, 1 baking machine and several baking materials” from the scene.

On April 21, troops discovered a factory where ISWAP fighters manufacture improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Abulam-BUK, Damboa LGA of Borno state.
