A video showing the moment Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), shook hands with President Bola Tinubu as he departed the country for Equatorial Guinea has surfaced.

The president left Abuja for Malabo on a three-day official visit to honor President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo's invitation.
At the tarmac, National Chairman Abdullai Ganduje, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and other top government officials were present.

Wike, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has formed an alliance with the ruling party. He played a key role in President Bola Tinubu's victory in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential elections.

Ngelale stated that Tinubu will meet with the Equatorial Guinean President at the Presidential Villa upon arrival and will hold meetings with Mbasogo to sign agreements, particularly regarding oil and gas and security.

This was announced by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Ngelale mentioned that Tinubu will meet with the Equatorial Guinean President at the Presidential Villa upon arrival and will hold meetings with Mbasogo to sign agreements, particularly regarding oil and gas and security.

“The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other members of his cabinet who will be involved in the signing of agreements and review of opportunities to improve bilateral relations,” he added.
