Watch moment Uduak Akpan tried to flee the court after being sentenced to death by hanging for killing Idiubong Umoren

Moment after the court sentenced Uduak Akpan, to death by hanging, the convicted rapist and murderer, was caught trying to flee.

An Akwa Ibom State High Court on Thursday, August 4, convicted Uduak for raping and killing Iniubong Umoren.

Umoren, was a graduate of Philosophy, University of Uyo, who was murdered in April 2021 by Akpan. The deceased was searching for a job while awaiting mobilization for the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme when she encountered Akpan who feigned he had a job for her. On getting to his apartment, Akpan raped her, and then killed her.

Shortly after the judge sentenced him to death by hanging, Uduak attempted to flee the court room but was apprehended by the security personnel and dragged into a van.
