The Federal Government on orders of The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.) banned all public gathering exceeding 20 persons since March to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Recent data from March till now have shown that the virus has spread more than expected in the count having recorded at least 15682 cases as of yesterday night.

Marley had scheduled the Abuja event for Saturday evening at the Jabi Lake Mall as a drive-in concert, which became a trend after countries eased movement restrictions, fans were expected to remain in their vehicles at a predetermined distance while watching the stage.

Viral videos on social media have shown fans disregarding the government's directives as many could be seen dancing without observing social distancing.

Fans could also be seen bare-faced without the use of face masks, as others took to the forefront after the singer came on stage.
