The presidential candidate of the Labour Party has demonstrated in many ways why he is the ideal person to lead Nigeria out of the conundrum it currently finds itself.

Over the past weeks, the former Anambra governor has been on tour to sell his dreams of a new Nigerian under his watch to citizens in the diaspora.

He made stops in Germany, and Canada and is currently in the United States.

In Los Angeles, he shared his perspectives on “The Role of the Nigerian Diaspora in Civic Leadership in Nigeria.”

Speaking to hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, Obi urged the diaspora residents that "they now serve as informal ambassadors and help within advancing development in their home countries." while noting that the "diaspora communities constitute an integral part and indeed, a critical mass of the development trajectory of their respective home countries."

Amongst other things, he said at the lecture at Howard said he sees "good governance as a theoretical concept".

According to him, "good governance simply translates to eight critical governance values and an unfettered commitment to upholding them. These are a leadership or government being: Accountable, Transparent, Responsive, Equitable and Inclusive, Effective and Efficient, Follows the rule of law, participatory and consensus-oriented. What they require, is a leadership imbued with competence, capacity, credibility and commitment. These are the 4 Cs, and leadership values required to turn Nigeria around."

Peter Obi and his Labour Party will hope to upset the odds in the upcoming general elections in 2023 as he contests the polls with more than 15 other candidates including Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
