A video is making rounds of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, breaking into Senator Okorocha's house through the roof of his Abuja residence.

On Tuesday, May 24, the EFCC stormed the home of presidential aspirant, Rochas Okorocha to arrest him after he ignored several invitations by the anti-graft agency over allegations of corruption.

In the video, the EFCC could be seen breaking through the celling of his home to make the arrest.

Another video showed how armed personnel surrounded the house, fired gunshots and teargas in the compound of Senator Okoracha.

People who were present at the residence were ordered to leave as the officers invaded the house which was located at the No 3, Nyasa Close, Off Ontario Street, Abuja.

Meanwhile the agency stated that their reason for the forceful seige is due to the Senator's refusal to honour the invitation after jumping the administrative bail earlier granted him by the commission.

According to the commission, on January 24, 2022, they filed a 17 count criminal charge bothering on diversion of public funds approximately to the tune of 2.9 billion.

The former Imo state governor reacting to the arrest said, "I am under hostage I would say, the EFCC is at my house both the back and the front.

“I would say, I have enquired if they have an arrest warrant nothing, and I am supposed to be getting ready for screening.

“I don’t know what is really happening, It is unfortunate that this is happening here," he revealed to Channels television.

Okorocha vowed to hold a press conference on the matter, adding that EFCC banned journalists from gaining access into his house.

“I am trying to address a press conference, Of course, the EFCC cannot stop the press from coming into my premises. They are inside my compound but the press is coming inside my house to interview me, they can’t stop them,” he said.
