South Africa head coach Desiree Ellis has disclosed that her side will be ready for all threats posed by the Super Falcons ahead of their semifinal clash at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Banyana Banyana of South Africa will take on the Super Falcons later today (Tuesday, July 22) for a place in the grand finale.

The mouth-watering encounter will take place at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

The Super Falcons are the highest-scoring team in the tournament and remain the only side yet to concede a goal.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Banyana Banyana head coach Ellis revealed that her team will have a different game plan for the nine-time African champions.

“Any team you play against has threats, there’s no two ways about it. And Nigeria not having conceded obviously shows how good their defence is, and the fact that they’ve scored goals shows how good their attack is,” Ellis told reporters.

“We just have to be on top of our game and try to nullify those threats and take opportunities when they come. Against Senegal, we had few and didn’t take them.

“So it’s a game of ninety minutes—maybe extra time, maybe penalties—and we just have to be on top of our game because we are coming up against an opponent that is very strong. An opponent that hasn’t conceded, that has scored goals. So we have to make sure we have a Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C.”
