A video showing the moment some young Nigerian men sprayed bundles of cash at a church has emerged on social media.
The now-viral clip shows the unidentified men spraying several denominations of money on a cow in Benin, Edo State.
According to the X handle Trending Xplained, the young men, described as “fraudsters,” reportedly shut down a church with their lavish offerings.
“Trending Video: Benin yahoo boys shut down church with lavish thanksgiving, offering a cow and abusing over ₦10bn in cash,” the post reads.
A user, in an attempt to verify the authenticity of the video, prompted X’s artificial intelligence system, GROK, to geo-locate the exact location of the event.
Like other users on X, GROK confirmed that the video was shot in Benin. It said: “The video originates from CCC Onolia Cathedral at 38 Igodon Street, off Limit Road, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Approximate coordinates: 6.3333°N, 5.6222°E. This is based on social media reports and church profiles matching the event description.”
