The protests were reportedly hijacked by hoodlums, causing chaos and mayhem. Reports indicate that some individuals have been killed in the process.
Looting and vandalizing were not left out. The police have revealed that some suspects have been arrested.
The nationwide protests scheduled to hold from August 1-10 aim to express disappointment with the government led by President Bola Tinubu.
According to these protesters, there is hunger in the country, corruption, inflation, high cost of living, an increase in food prices, fuel price hikes and many more crises affecting the citizens.
In an attempt to force the government to resolve the economic crisis, Nigerians took to the streets to protest.
However, there has been some violence that rocked the peaceful protests.
The security personnel were seen spraying water and firing teargas to disperse the protesters.
Some were reportedly injured in the process as many raised concerns.
