Some Chieftains of the largest opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party were in a joyous mood as President Bola Tinubu was sworn as Nigeria's 16th president.

Samuel Ortom, Ayodele Fayose, Sandy Onor, Chief Dan Orbih, Chief Timipre Sylvia, and Senator Jaraigbe were cited in the video on social media.

The stalwarts were reportedly at the private residence of former Governor Nyesom Wike.

Some of them including Ayo Fayose, Samuel Ortom and former Rivers State Governor had made it known publicly that they were against the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar as the party's presidential candidate.

The fracas led to disunity in the party which ultimately led to the party losing the elections albeit without controversy.

Chief Justice of the Federation, Olukayode Ariwoola administered the oath of office to the President at 10:40 am, shortly after the Vice President took his oath of office.

Both will be succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo whose second four-year term lapses today.
