The video of the Akwa Ibom Governor-elect, Pastor Umo Eno promising ‘happy hour’ for residents of the state has re-emerged after his victory in the March 18 elections.

Eno prior to the election said there will be ‘happy hour’ in the state every Friday if elected into office.

He described Happy Hour as a period of the day when drinks are sold at reduced prices in a bar or other such facilities.

In a trending video seen by TheCable, Eno can be heard saying he’ll subsidize alcohol between 5 pm and 6 pm on Fridays.

“Every Friday, I will have what I call happy hour for the state. And what do I want to do with happy hour? It’s simple. I want to create business for people that have facility. So, we declare that between 5 and 6, these are the bars that will sell drinks at certain price,” he said.

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Akwa Ibom State declared Eno the winner of the elections after polling a total of 356,346 votes to defeat his opponents of the Young Progressive Party and All Progressives Congress who scored a total of 136,262 and 129,602 respectively.

The New Nigeria Peoples Party followed with 125,09 votes while the Labour party polled 4,746 votes and others trail in that order.

Declaring the results at the INEC headquarters in Uyo on Sunday, the State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, Prof Emmanuel Adigio, said “The Pst Umo Eno of the PDP having satisfied the requirements of the law is here declared winner of the governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.”
