Video: Armed robbers hit Zenith, UBA, First Bank, simultaneously in broad daylight; scores dead

A robbery incident that took place in Otukpo area in Benue State on Friday, October 20, has left several people dead including police officers.

Report indicates that some daredevil armed robbers stormed some banks namely; First Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa (UBA), and Zenith Plc and carted away money several millions of naira.

It was gathered that the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. and used dynamites to force the door open.

An eyewitness Suuny, said that prior to the robbery, the armed robbers attacked the police station in the area.

Sunny, who operates a Point On Sale business close to one of the banks, said the gunshots alerted residents to the arrival of the suspected robbers.

He noted that as the robbers left in two Hilux vehicles and a car, they were seen throwing naira noted in the air.

“Everyone scampered for safety. What they did was first attack the police station, which is near the three banks.

“The banks affected include United Bank for Africa, UBA, Zenith Bank, and First Bank Plc.

“The robbers operated for more than an hour without resistance from security operatives, and they killed two people," the eyewitness said.
