Former Fenerbahçe striker Serhat Akın has extolled Victor Osimhen as the greatest striker to play in the Turkish Super Lig.
Osimhen, 26, had a remarkable debut season in the Turkish Super Lig after joining Galatasaray on an initial loan deal last year.
The Super Eagles striker racked up an astonishing 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds, guiding them to two domestic titles.
Osimhen’s impressive campaign convinced the Turkish giants to break the bank and sign him on a permanent deal for a fee worth €75 million.
The former Napoli striker has picked up from where he left off last season, firing on all cylinders for Galatasaray this term.
Despite being a former player of Galatasaray’s greatest rival, Akın believes the Nigerian international is the greatest forward ever to grace the Turkish top flight.
“Osimhen is an extraordinary man. I think he’s the greatest centre-forward to ever grace this league,” Akın said, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
“Icardi is a pure striker; he did amazing things for two years and became the top scorer.
“Icardi is a completely different player. If I were a manager, I’d be incredibly happy to have Osimhen on my team. He’s my dream centre-forward.”
