Victor Boniface shares inspiring childhood throwback photo following league triumph with Bayer Leverkusen

From his humble beginnings as a kid who loved the beautiful game to a Bundesliga champion, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has shared a throwback picture of his childhood following his recent league triumph with Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, April 14.

The 23-year-old has shared his excitement after helping Leverkusen to win their first-ever Bundesliga title since the inception of the club in 1904.

The Super Eagles striker opened the scoring from the spot in the 25th minute before Granit Xhaka added the second on the hour mark against Werder Bremen.

Florian Wirtz struck on minute 68, 83 and 90 to complete a remarkable hat-trick as Xabi Alonso's side rounded up their Bundesliga campaign in scintillating fashion with five matches to spare.

As part of his celebrations, Boniface is his latest post has shared a picture of his childhood as a young footballer, urging fans not to give up.

Bayer Leverkusen is the only club which is undefeated this season. The newly crowned German champions are on course for a historic treble.

The Xabi Alonso-led side are in the DFB Pokal final and are holding a healthy 2-0 advantage over West Ham in the quarterfinals of the Europe League.
