Lere Olayinka, spokesperson for the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has stated that the former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, has been defrauded of a land in Abuja.
MyNigeria reported that a naval officer guarding the land on the orders of Gambo had a confrontation with Wike on Tuesday concerning the said property.
Reacting on X, Olayinka stated that Gambo is not the actual owner of the land because it was sold to him through a scam.
He advised the retired military man to use his military might against the person who sold the land to him, rather than against Wike.
Olayinka said, "He was duped by someone who sold the land to him and other people.
"He needs to use his Military Might against the person who sold land meant for PARK and RECREATION to him to build DUPLEXES, not FCTA officials carrying out their lawful duties."
Meanwhile, the Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru has defended the action of Lieutenant Yerima, the naval officer who stood up to the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, over a disputed parcel of land allegedly belonging to former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo.
"We will always protect our officer. He has done well. We won't allow anything to happen to him," Badaru said concerning the incident on Tuesday..
