KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare took to social media to celebrate the Super Eagles’ victory over Jamaica in the Unity Cup invitational tournament on Saturday, May 31.
The Super Eagles edged the Reggae Boys 5-4 in a penalty shootout to secure the trophy after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Following the win, the 24-year-old, who came off the bench during the game, shared his excitement on social media, writing in Pidgin:
“Say I no go win anything this season. If you like, make una call am backyard tournament. Cup nah cup.”
Arokodare enjoyed an outstanding season with Genk in the Belgian Pro League, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals.
The two-capped Super Eagles forward will be part of Nigeria’s squad for their upcoming international friendly against Russia.
