Uju Anya, the US-based Nigerian professor who courted public attention for her comment moments before the death of Queen Elizabeth II has in a recent video stated the role of Britain in creating a divided Nigeria and their funding of the Biafra war of 1967.

In an interview with 1Hood, an online broadcast platform, Anya reiterated that the citizens wanted to be separate before the "British empire imposed on us which is this country of Nigeria".

She further accused Britain of "taking a bunch of independent nations who don't have anything to do with each other, don't speak each other language and bring them together".

She finally accused Britain of funding the Biafra war of 1967 that led to the death of more than thousands of Nigerians of Igbo extraction.

This interview comes off the back of her declining one with popular media personality, Piers Morgan.

Reacting to her interview, veteran actor, Yul Edochie said: “Thank you for speaking for our people. Only the truth can set us free. And set us on the part of recovery. Thank you, Professor Uju Anya.”
