US testing Maurice Iwu's drug for coronavirus cure - Minister

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonanya Onu, has said that a chemical compound isolated by former INEC chairman, Prof. Maurice Iwu, is being tested by the United States to see if it could be a possible cure for coronavirus.

Onu also dismissed reports that the compound by Iwu is a cure to coronavirus. According to him, the professor's initial finding is that it could cure SARS.

Onu said, “They are testing it in the US to confirm whether this could be a cure for Covid -19 or SARS.”
