The United States House Foreign Affairs Committee has said President Donald Trump is right for saying Christians are being killed in Nigeria.

In a statement, the committee said, "For far too long, innocent Nigerian Christians have been slaughtered while the world looks away.

"In fact, just this week, terrorists attacked a church, killing and kidnapping innocent Christians. This is the reality they face in the region."

The committee also shared a video of Nigerian Bishop Anagbe, arguing for Nigeria to be classified as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC), also detailing how the Islamic terrorists ravaged his country.

It said that since his claim, President Trump has added the country back to the CPC list.

This week, @nickiminaj also sounded the alarm during her opening statement at the @USUN: “Protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about taking sides or dividing people… It’s about the freedom of a people to practice their faith without fear of losing their lives.”

The committee said, "These gruesome atrocities must not go unheard. The House Foreign Affairs Committee is holding a hearing tomorrow to further bring light to the violent killings."
