UNIJOS resumes academic activities Monday

Academic activities at the University of Jos will resume on Monday, June 7th, according to the university's management.

According to The Nation, the institution was shut down for the second time in a fortnight due to a security threat.

Monday Danjem, the Registrar of the University of Jos, stated in a statement: “The University wishes to advise all members of the university staff and students, parents, guardians, and members of the public that academic and administrative activities will resume in the University on Monday, June 7.

“This comes after extensive consultation with all university stakeholders, including Deans and Directors, Heads of Departments, the four staff unions ASUU, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT, the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and the Students' Union Government,” the statement reads (SUG).

“The university administration wishes to reassure all members of the university community that appropriate security measures have been implemented to safeguard their safety.
