UCL: Osimhen smashes two records after brace against Bodo/Glimt

Victor Osimhen starred as Galatasaray defeated Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old netted a brace as the Turkish champions secured a comprehensive 3–1 victory at Rams Park.

The Super Eagles striker scored an early opener in the third minute before adding another 30 minutes later to give the Yellow and Reds a two-goal cushion before the halftime break.

Yunus Akgün added the third goal on the half-hour mark before Andreas Helmersen scored a consolation with a quarter of an hour left on the clock.

Osimhen made history by becoming the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European matches.

The former Napoli striker surpassed the previous record held by Burak Yılmaz from 2012.

Osimhen also scored Galatasaray's fastest-ever goal in the prestigious UEFA competition.

Sharing his thoughts on the game, the Nigerian international thanked his teammates for their support while urging them to build on the momentum from the victory.

“I don’t score these goals alone; I don’t break these records alone. A huge thank you to the team and our fans. We’ll continue to build on this momentum,” he was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
