Galatasaray assistant head coach Ismael Garcia has described Victor Osimhen as the perfect striker to punish Barcelona’s defence ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash.

Osimhen, who came off the bench during Galatasaray’s 3-1 home victory over Kasımpaşa on Friday, October 9, is expected to start when the Turkish giants host the Spanish champions at RAMS Park on Tuesday, October 13.

The 27-year-old had been sidelined with a groin injury since September 4 and missed the club’s Champions League opener against Sporting Lisbon.

Speaking ahead of the Barcelona clash, Garcia confirmed that Osimhen would be available for selection and explained how the Nigerian striker could pose a significant threat to the Blaugrana defence.

“Yes, yes. I’m not going to tell you clichés or lies: he’s ready to play and he’s a completely differential player for us. Obviously, he’s there to play,” Garcia said, as quoted by Diario Sport.

“And I’ll tell you more: the top players do well in every game, but perhaps, because of Barcelona’s way of defending, so aggressive and with the defensive line in the middle of the field, Osimhen is the striker who, due to his characteristics, is perfect against that type of defence.

“Beyond the fact that he is an extraordinary striker, we hope that he can do a lot of damage to Barcelona with the way he plays.”
