U.S. confirms Bola Tinubu is a drug baron; releases certified copies of his dealings, money laundering case

Report indicates that the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has released new documents accusing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu of narcotics trafficking and money laundering.

The 56-page document released by the district court confirmed rumours that had been shared in the media over the years.

The latest certified copies of the court case, obtained on August 10, showed Tinubu and two others named K.O. Tinubu and Alhaji Mogati were involved in banking proceeds of illicit drugs and money laundering with Heritage Bank and Citibank.

However, many wonder if the name 'Alhaji Mogati' was a misspelling of Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, Tinubu’s foster mother, who passed on in 2013.

It was gathered that in July 1993, the U.S. government sought forfeiture of proceeds of narcotics Tinubu was accused of laundering.

The matter was later resolved in a compromise between the Tinubus and the U.S. authorities, with the Tinubus being asked to keep the money in the Heritage Bank account while the $460,000 in the Citibank account was forfeited, report said.

Since the news of his drug dealings hit the media, Bola Tinubu has come under massive ridicule and political onslaught for his role in an early 1990s drug trafficking case in Chicago.

Although he is yet to speak on the issue, his supporters and party members have made efforts to downplay the recent expose.

Recall that the former Lagos State Governor, told the electoral office INEC in his application to stand for the election that he had no prior criminal convictions.

Nigerians are therefore, calling on Tinubu, to come clean on his involvement in the case.

adedayomustapha: Educate yourself and your gullible supporters. He was not convicted and neither does all your screenshots prove same. The funds were forfeited because it was presumed to be part of a fraudulent transaction and the case was never tried and he was never convicted nor indicted. That money could have been gifted to him by his friends and he didn’t fight the forfeiture. There’s no intent to commit a crime and there’s no conspiracy to commit a crime. I’m sure you are educated dear Gistlover.
