'Two great giants' - Viral video of Osinbajo, Akinwunmi speaking Yoruba emerges, fans react

A video of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina has generated a conversation on social media.

This comes after both men met at the launch of a new Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) programme.

Both men have been regarded as very influential to the Yoruba people.

The video shared on the Tiktok account of Osinbajo also stressed their importance to the country.

Some users suggested that both men should be president of the country.

Recall that Osinbajo contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries but finished third behind his political godfather, Bola Tinubu and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Akinwunmi on the other hand was rumoured to be interested in the join the APC presidential race before he quashed the reports.

The iDICE programme, with investments totalling $618 million, will attract direct investments in more than 200 technology and creative start-ups and provide non-financial services to about 450 digital technology, small and medium enterprises.

With the potential to generate $6.4 billion into Nigeria’s economy, iDICE is expected to create 6 million new jobs for young Nigerians.

Speaking at the launch event in the capital Abuja, Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo emphasised the importance of a coordinated approach to innovation across Africa. “Government must provide more support for start-ups and small businesses, and investors must provide more funding," Osinbajo said.
