Former Besiktas midfielder, Sinan Engin, has emphasised the impressive goal-scoring abilities of Nigerian internationals, Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu, in the 2025–2026 Turkish Super Lig.
Speaking during a discussion on the Asist Analiz YouTube channel, Engin hailed the Super Eagles stars who are taking the Turkish league by storm.
The forwards from Galatasaray and Trabzonspor have collectively netted 42 goals in all competitions this season, with Osimhen contributing 19 goals, which is four fewer than Onuachu.
By scoring in Galatasaray’s win against Başakşehir FK, the former African Footballer of the Year has extended his streak to nine consecutive matches with either a goal or an assist in the Super Lig, while the Trabzonspor striker is experiencing an exceptional ten-game scoring streak across all competitions.
With eight matches left in the Super Lig, Galatasaray currently leads the standings with 64 points, seven points ahead of third-placed Trabzonspor.
Engin characterised Osimhen as a championship-winning striker and remarked that Onuachu’s goals have been vital for Trabzonspor’s quest for a Champions League position.
He told Habersarikirmizi, “How can someone like Sadettin Saran, who is part of the sports and football community, fail to sign a striker?
“It is evident that a striker is what makes Galatasaray champions. “Osimhen is the one who drives Galatasaray towards the championship.
“There is no need for further explanation; it is clear to see. Onuachu has also scored 21 goals. Had he only netted 15 goals, the team might have earned 6-8 fewer points by now.”
Osimhen was awarded the Super Lig’s top scorer title last season, becoming the fourth African player to achieve this honour, following Aatif Chahechouhe, Mbaye Diagne, and Aaron Boupendza.
