Paul Onuachu will be looking to become the third highest scoring foreign player in Trabzonspor’s history when the club host Caykur Rizespor at the Papara Park on Saturday (today).
The Nigeria international has so far scored 39 goals across all competitions for the Black Sea Storm.
One more goal will see him move to second position behind former Georgia international Shota Arveladze, and compatriot Anthony Nwakaeme.
Arveladze netted 85 times for Trabzonspor, while Nwakaeme scored 51 goals.
Onuachu is also aiming to become the first foreign player to score the highest number of league goals for Trabzonspor in a single season.
Arveladze remains the benchmark after scoring 25 goals in the 1995/96 campaign, while Alexander Sørloth netted 24 during the 2019/20 season.
Onuachu has been in impressive form recently for Trabzonspor, scoring in seven consecutive league matches and nine straight games across all competitions.
