A return to the German Bundesliga could be on the cards for Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

According to widespread reports, Werder Bremen have shown keen interest in the services of the 28-year-old.

Awoniyi has struggled to secure game time after returning from injury in October. The Nigerian international has featured in just four Premier League appearances this season, totaling only 133 minutes.

Reports indicate that Nottingham Forest have rescinded their initial decision to offer Awoniyi a new deal due to his loss of form.

According to Africafoot, the forward is considering options that will guarantee him regular playing time.

The report adds that Awoniyi is no longer part of the club’s plans for the future and could leave in January when a suitable deal arrives at the club’s table.
