Turkish champions Galatasaray have begun preparing for life after Victor Osimhen, as the Nigerian striker is expected to leave following the conclusion of his season-long loan spell at the club.
Osimhen joined the Istanbul giants last September after falling out with his parent club, Napoli, following his failed move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
The 26-year-old hit the ground running in Turkey, racking up 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds.
The Super Eagles striker guided Galatasaray to a domestic double, winning both the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup under Okan Buruk's management.
The former African Footballer of the Year also clinched the Turkish Golden Boot award with 26 goals.
With Osimhen’s loan deal set to expire at the end of this month, Galatasaray have set their sights on Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku as a potential replacement for the Nigerian, as reported by Fanatik.
The French international wants to leave Chelsea this summer after struggling for game time under Enzo Maresca.
Nkunku was pivotal to Chelsea’s run to the Conference League title, contributing five goals and three assists in nine appearances for the Blues.
The 27-year-old also managed three goals and two assists in 27 Premier League outings.
