Turkish Süper Lig powerhouse, Besiktas has identified Fiorentina midfielder, Rolando Mandragora as a replacement for Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi, amid increasing uncertainty regarding the Nigerian’s future at the club.
Ndidi, who made the switch to the Black and Whites from Leicester City, has become the focus of mounting transfer speculation ahead of the 2026/2027 season, with several clubs from the Saudi Pro League reportedly keeping an eye on his situation.
Despite his relatively brief tenure at the club, the experienced midfielder has showcased a series of commendable performances and has quickly established himself as one of the team’s pivotal leaders in the locker room.
However, the interest from Saudi Arabia has raised alarms within the club’s management, prompting them to start considering alternative options should the Nigerian opt to leave Istanbul this summer.
As per reports from the Turkish publication Turkiye Gazetesi, Besiktas has shifted their focus to Fiorentina’s Rolando Mandragora as a viable replacement for Ndidi.
The report indicates that Besiktas manager Vincenzo Italiano has personally endorsed the Italian midfielder, having previously collaborated with him and being well-acquainted with his capabilities.
Besiktas is said to have already reached out to Fiorentina to obtain information regarding Mandragora’s contract status and the requirements necessary to facilitate a transfer.
The Serie A club is reportedly amenable to negotiations but has set a valuation of around €10 million for the midfielder.
While no formal proposal has been made at this point, discussions between the two clubs are anticipated to escalate in the upcoming days.
