The sudden deaths of five members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo has formed a dark cloud around the party.

Reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) states the late party members were elected councillors on the platform of the party.

Teslim Folarin, a former senator condoled with the Oyo state councilors’ forum over the tragedy.

Folarin said: "I was shocked and saddened to hear about the tragic loss of some elected councillors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.

“My heart aches for the forum, the progressive family, the constituencies they represented and the families they left behind.''

According to Peoples Gazette, the former lawmaker stated the late politicians will be remembered for their contributions to uplift the downtrodden masses. He prayed to Almighty God to rest their souls in peace and give strength to all of them to overcome the unfathomable losses.

Among the deceased members were:

1. Honourable Rukayat Adejumobi from Itesiwaju Local Government

2. Honourable Oluyemi Muhammad from Ibadan South Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

3. Honourable Oluwole Adesokan from Akinyele,

4. Honourable Asimiyu Ajayi from Ido

5. Honourable Moruf Agbedo from Egbeda
