Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has reportedly lost his father, Sunday Ndidi.
According to reports, Sunday Ndidi was killed in a road accident that occurred on Tuesday, January 27.
Sunday, a retired military officer, was involved in a gory accident in Umunede, Delta State. He was rushed to a hospital in Agbor, where he was later pronounced dead by doctors.
The news was shared by Wilfred Ndidi’s club via their official social media platforms.
In a post on X, Besiktas expressed their condolences to the former Leicester City midfielder and his family.
“May Allah have mercy on the deceased. We offer our heartfelt condolences to our footballer Wilfred Ndidi, his family, and all his loved ones,” the statement read.
Ndidi recently captained the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The 29-year-old played a key role as Nigeria finished third in the recently concluded tournament.
