Trafficked Nigerian girl cries out from Mali

A heartbreaking video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after a Nigerian woman made an emotional appeal for help from what she claims is a camp in Mali where trafficked Nigerian girls are being held.

In the video, the woman alleges that some Nigerian women lure young girls with promises of jobs and better opportunities in Mali. According to her, the victims are told they will be able to work and earn a decent living.

However, she claims that upon arrival, they are taken to a makeshift camp and forced into prostitution while their "madams" collect the money they make.

The woman also shared the story of another Nigerian woman at the camp whom she said had already completed paying the money demanded by her madam but remains stranded because she has no means of returning home. According to the speaker, the woman is pregnant and has become mentally unstable as a result of the trauma she has endured. At one point in the video, she points the camera toward the pregnant woman while explaining her situation.

Throughout the video, the speaker repeatedly pleads for help, calling on the Nigerian government and relevant authorities to rescue them from their situation.

The footage, which shows crude shelters made from black plastic tarps and wooden poles in a dusty rural area, has triggered emotional reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the alleged exploitation of young women.
