Toke Makinwa warns 20 year-olds not to aspire for marriage (Video)

Radio personality, Toke Makinwa has tied maturity in relationships to the age of the person involved.

She made this declaration on her Vlog, Toke Moments while talking about "The pressure to aspire to marriage in your 20's."

The YouTuber encouraged ladies most especially to explore their 20's before settling down.

However, she highlighted age as a pre-requisite in discerning when to actually tie the knot.

Listen to her: "At 30, you can say I have dated enough to smell bullshit from afar. When you are young, there are some things you are triggered by and when you turn 30, you ask yourself: do I really think I want to marry that person?

"It is so funny how emotions usually lies to us as women," the on-air-personality said.

She went on to also blame men for not being emotionally invested in the marriage institution. Trying not to contradict herself, she agreed that there were a few 18 or 20-year-olds that are mature for marriage, but she firmly stated that it was not the norm for young adults to be mature and aspire for marriage.

"You can't use that yardstick to measure everyone," the OAP argued.

Reinforcing her argument she said again:

"I think that in your 20's, get a mask on. Glow, hang out with your friends. Slumber parties. Change jobs. Fiddle with your career. Do I like baking...maybe be not. Do I want to make hair? I like it for a while, I can change my mind. Enjoy your journey, so that when the time comes, you can sacrifice things sacrificeable," She said.
