The governor of Lagos state, Babjide Sanwo-Olu while advising governors in the country to spend public money well, said that he has not bought any car since he assumed office.

He said that the vehicle he is using now were the same ones he had during his campaign, This Day reports.

In his statement, he said that the chief executive of every state needs to look at how they can cut out wasteful spending as a way to increase their state’s wealth.

He said: “What I have done till date is that I have not purchased any single official vehicle for myself, for any of my personal staff or any of my family members from the government purse. If you see me have a convoy of 10 vehicles, these are all vehicles I was using during my campaigns.”

He added that the money he ought to have used to buy exotic cars has all gone back to the state coffers and used instead to develop Lagos.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that following the destruction of properties by hoodlums across Lagos, the governor on Wednesday, November 4, signed an executive order to rebuild the state.

Sanwo-Olu constituted the Lagos State Rebuilding Trust Fund to oversee the rebuilding of every aspect of the state and also look at the future and healing of wounds.
