But in a new development on Monday, June 19, President Tinubu sacked all service chiefs, including the national security adviser, and announced Ribadu as a replacement.

On Thursday, June 15, Tinubu announced Ribadu as special adviser on security, alongside seven other special advisers but the pronouncement generated controversies among political pundits who struggled to market the differences between Ribadu's office and that of the National Security Adviser.

But the president in a new decisive move on Monday, June 19, named Ribadu as the new National Security Adviser alongside other security chiefs.

Profile of Nuhu Ribadu before Tinubu' appointment

Ribadu retired as an assistant inspector general of the police and was appointed as the pioneer chairman of the EFCC by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The appointment of Ribadu and other security chiefs was made with immediate effect.

President Tinubu has kept Nigerians talking since the first day of his resumption to office when he announced the removal of the fuel subsidy.

He has made some policy statements in the economy and education areas and has suspended the chairman of the EFCC and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
