Theo Agada, a political activist, has urged President Bola Tinubu to sack Hannatu Musa Musawa, minister of art, culture, tourism and the creative economy.

According to Agada, Musawa "has been an absolute disaster".

Legit.ng reports that Abu, the spokesperson for the Northern Renaissance Network (NRN), posited that Musawa has been underwhelming since assuming office in 2023.

He wrote on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page recently:

Musawa is a legal practitioner, politician, and author who has served as Nigeria's minister of art, culture, tourism and creative economy since 2023. She is from Katsina state in northern Nigeria and belongs to the Hausa-Fulani ethnic group.

Musawa has been involved in Nigerian political affairs, both as a candidate and an activist. She contested for a legislative seat in the federal house of representatives, aiming to serve her constituency and the public. She also served as a lawyer on the prosecution team in the 2003 presidential election petition involving Muhammadu Buhari and Olusegun Obasanjo.

Nigeria’s creative economy ministry attracts huge investments

Meanwhile, Musawa has revealed that the ministry has secured over $300 million in investment commitments.

Musawa disclosed this at the ministerial press briefing session held on Friday, May 16, in Abuja.

She emphasised that the government has set a goal of creating at least two million jobs within the creative industry by 2027.

The minister further noted that President Tinubu plans to unveil creative hubs across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones in the coming months, positioning Nigeria as a global hub for creativity.
