Former Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has advised President Bola Tinubu to scrap the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
This was after Tinubu granted a presidential pardon to 70 people convicted of drug trafficking.
According to Melaye, Tinubu's action has made a mess of all the efforts of the NDLEA against drug trafficking.
He shared on X, "Pardon granted 70 drug lords by President Tinubu is unprecedented in history. Checks have revealed that it has never happened in the history of the world. My advice to the President is to scrap the NDLEA. His action has made a beautiful nonsense of all the efforts of the agency since its inception."
Reacting, an X user, @ayindeautos, said, "OJUKWU, who led over 3 million children, pregnant women, the elderly, the disabled and so on to early graves and wasted our commonwealth in unnecessary war ENJOY THE SAME PARDON. What could be wors,e Nigerians ain't as stup*d as most y'all believe, Presidential pardon ain't new."
@Obijah20001 said, "None of them is known to the president. The names are compiled by the amnesty committee and presented to the president. You are a former senator of the Federal Republic, you should know better. This's not the way to play opposition."
@chizzi_vincents said, "To think a notorious críminal and kídnaper who once kídnapped Mike Ozekhome (SAN) and kíIIed former Anambra deputy governor was also pardoned makes me síck."
