There is anxiety among ministers as President Bola Tinubu is set to reshuffle his cabinet. The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, mentioned that the impending changes are aimed at removing underperforming ministers.

The move to reshuffle the cabinet is intended to bring new expertise into the Tinubu administration, aligning with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Although there are critics who believe that several ministers secured their positions through political connections rather than merit.

Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, has reportedly compiled a performance evaluation report that will influence Tinubu's decisions on who remains and who goes.

A source within the presidential villa told Vanguard that President Tinubu travelled to the United Kingdom with the report during his two-week leave. His return on Sunday, October 20, caused panic among some ministers.

Some personalities in Tinubu’s government met with Tinubu in Aso Rock. They include Zaccheus Adedeji (FIRS Chairman and Special Adviser to the President on Revenue), Dave Umahi (Minister of Works), National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa.

It was revealed that a Federal Executive Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, potentially serving as a farewell for departing ministers.

President Tinubu is expected to announce the cabinet reshuffle before the week's end, marking a significant overhaul of his administration.
