Peter Obi has called on President Bola Tinubu to reintroduce himself to Nigerians and the world.

In a press conference held on Wednesday, October 11, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party said Tinubu owes Nigerians an obligation to tell the world his real name, nationality, place of birth, parentage, primary and secondary schools he attended.

He noted that Tinubu should also inform Nigerians of the universities he attended and certificates obtained as well as, where and when he did his NYSC. He added that if at any time there was a change of name he should let it be known as it is not a crime.

Obi said; "Chief Bola Tinubu still owes Nigerians and the world a simple obligation and I respectfully call on him to immediately perform a simple task: reintroduce himself, let the world know his name, nationality, place of birth, parentage, primary and secondary schools he attended with dates, as well as the actual universities he attended and certificates obtained. He should also indicate where and when he did his NYSC, and if at any time he had a change of name, that's not a crime."

His comment comes following Tinubu's recent academic record scandal that rocked the nation.

Recall that Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, petitioned a US court to compel the Chicago State University to release Tinubu's certificate.

This document Atiku said he plans to present it to the Supreme Court as evidence that Tinubu presented a forged certificate to INEC ahead of the 2023 general elections.

However, CSU released the documents which showed that Tinubu graduated from the institution in 1979, although the date of birth and gender on the certificate raised concerns.

As a results, many have wondered if there are other things President Tinubu forged in an attempt to win the 2023 presidential elections.

Speaking during the press conference, Peter Obi stated that Tinubu's identity issue with CSU has worsened Nigeria's image internationally.

"To the outsiders, the entire Chicago University matter as well as Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu's many other lingering identity, question marks has further worsened Nigeria's glorious image internationally.

"Uninformed outsiders, now see every Nigerian as a fraudster, certificate forger or identity thief. The controversy is unnecessary just as the implicit global embarrassment could have been avoided," Obi said.
