Temitope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has lamented that refuse is taking over Abuja.
In a post on X, Tinubu's aide noted that the issue likely stems from a broken link in waste management in the Federal Capital Territory.
This was as he called the attention of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to the disturbing trend to avert a public crisis.
He said, "My own Matter of Particular Concern (MPC) is the state of waste management and disposal in Abuja.
"Something has certainly broken with waste management and collection in Abuja that requires urgent fixing.
"Refuse is taking over the city. Minister Wike should pay immediate attention to this. We salute his work in expanding road infrastructure and restarting many abandoned road projects and bridges.
"The Minister must now avert public health crisis with heaps of refuse taking over public spaces."
