The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi has said that the server logs showed that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, manipulated the results in the 2023 election held on February 25.

His comment comes following the preliminary objection by INEC asking the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal to dismiss their petition challenging the outcome of the election, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu's victory.

INEC had told the tribunal to dismiss Obi and the Labour Party’s petition. Responding to the preliminary objection, the lead counsel, Levy Uzoukwu (SAN), noted that there was no factual basis for INEC’s alleged circumvention of the mandatory transmission of the results of the election from the BVAS in the polling units to the IReV.

Peter Obi and the Labour Party also accusing INEC, of favouring Bola Tinubu, the president-elect in the presidential election.

In a petition with a marked number CA/PEPC/03/2023, Obi and the Labour Party, argued that Tinubu was not elected with a majority of the lawful votes cast during the February 25 presidential election.

Peter Obi emerged third in the 2023 election as declared by INEC. However, the presidential candidate and the party are contesting the outcome of the election. Also challenging the declaration of APC’s Tinubu as the winner and president-elect.
