The Deputy National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Timothy Osadolor, has called on President Bola Tinubu to issue an apology following the suspension of Governor Siminilayi Fubara.
He criticised Tinubu for allegedly surpassing his constitutional authority by imposing emergency rule in Rivers State.
Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, Osadolor expressed his reaction to the President’s decision, stating that such actions undermine the constitutional separation of powers and could set a perilous precedent for Nigeria’s democratic process.
“Yes, I think the President is overreaching when I read the last paragraph of his speech, where he spoke to governors as if he were a headmaster in a classroom.
“He should apologise. I felt he should understand fully well that there is a clear division of powers,” Osadolor said.
