Northwest APC Chairman, Salihu Lukman reiterated his disappointment at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, especially his cabinet.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television Politics Today with Seun Okinbaloye he noted that President Tinubu has been distracted from the initial plan for his Cabinet which have may be as a result of the process of the negotiation for appointment.

In his submission, he noted this list of nominees does not reflect the true Asiwaju that the he and the party know. Adding that the Asiwaju that they knows what he wants to achieve and how to select the right people that he wants to work with in his government.

Salihu Lukman said;

“There is clearly a plan. I think the process of negotiation to nominate ministers, the process of making some other appointments may have consumed the attention of both the president and many of the people around. Many of us are quite disappointed.

Looking at the ministerial nominee, there are six that are medical doctors, there are additional five that are lawyers and altogether, you can hardly see this is the thinking that goes into nominating.

I think it is just politics that has played out which is not the Asiwaju that we know. The Asiwaju we know, he can pen very confidently. He is somebody that can at any point in time he knows what he wants to achieve and he knows how to go about getting the people that he is going to work with.”

Lukman further said;

“I know that he is a meticulous person as a leader, and whatever is playing now that is distracting him from the said plan, I think we really have to draw his attention that he needs to get back to that plan.

I don’t want to believe he got in there without a plan, I believe there is a plan and been part of the leadership, I’m been privy to some of the discussion around the plan and sincerely speaking there is a plan I believe.

What has happened in the last few weeks, I think it’s the process of the negotiation for appointment that may have distracted the government from the initial plan,” the deputy APC chairman noted.
