Throwback: NTA's breaking news of MKO Abiola's death in 1998 sparks memorable reactions from Nigerians

An old Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) broadcast of the sudden demise of Moshood Olawale Kashimawo Abiola has sparked myriads of reactions after it surfaced on social media.

MKO Abiola died unexpectedly, shortly after the death of General Abacha, on July 7, 1998, the day he was due to be released from prison.

According to reports, he fell ill and subsequently passed while meeting a group of American diplomats at a government guesthouse in Abuja.

An independent autopsy report indicated that he suffered from longstanding heart disease.

The video has sparked memorable reactions from Nigerians who witnessed the demise of the politician.
