Three persons who are suspected to be political thugs have been killed at the Ogbakiri Community in the Emohua local government area of the state.

The Leadership notes that the incident happened during a clash between thugs allegedly hired by some political parties in the community.

The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react to the ugly development.

There has been a low turnout of voters to Saturday's Governorship and House of Assembly election in parts of Rivers State.

Leadership gathered that the worst hit by the low turnout are Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas of the state.

Meanwhile, the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has accused the Nyesom Wike-led administration of not providing safety to voters attempting to cast their votes.

Amaechi after voting at his Ward 8, Unit 14, Ubima Community, Ikwerre Local Government Area alleged that the police are arresting persons who are not affiliated with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He described it as a "complete failure".

He said that even though the election was peaceful in his community there are reports of the arrest of candidates of the APC for the polls.
