Super Eagles star Nathan Tella has expressed his desire to help Bayer Leverkusen achieve European glory in the Europa League.

Leverkusen will face Polish club Lech Poznań in a Matchday 2 fixture at the Stadion Poznań on Thursday, October 15.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Tella reflected on Leverkusen’s run to the final of the competition three seasons ago, when they were beaten by Ademola Lookman-inspired Atalanta in Dublin.

“Those were magical nights. We want to build on those, as well as the last few games,” Tella said, as quoted on the club’s official website.

“This competition means a lot to me. They were my first games in Europe,” the Nigerian international added.

Tella remains one of the players from Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen side that went almost unbeaten throughout the 2023/24 season.
