The president, Muhammadu Buhari is always in the news for a number of reasons. Be it good or bad, the spotlight is always on the first gentleman of the land.

While his allies on various platforms, traditional and social media make it a point to hail his achievements, the others on the opposite side use the same mediums to condemn and remind Nigerians of how incompetent and corrupt his government can be.

The kidnap of an unspecified number of female students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in the Mando in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State by some unknown gunmen on Thursday, March 11, 2021, has once brought to bear the challenges affecting the country's security apparatus.

Interestingly, the president is not being called out for that. Rather, Nigerians are focused on a new template that showed an increase in the pump price of petrol from N186 to N212 per liter.

The new template was posted by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) on its website on Thursday night, March 11, 2021, but deleted immediately afterward.

The template showed that the retail price of petrol would sell between the market band of N209.61 and N212.61.
