The political landscape they say indeed is not for the light-hearted.

Political games, death threats, and abuse of personality and character is something that can not be tolerated by many.

In Nigeria, most popular entertainers have tried using their fame and political capital to venture into space.

While many have passed the test and have represented their states, constituents, or served in other capacities, others have tried but failed.

Below is a list of celebrities who have tried but failed:

Kate Henshaw

Veteran actress Kate Henshaw broke the barriers as an actress but wasn't able to do the same in the political space.

Despite contesting and losing the PDP primaries in Calabar state, she was in 2015, she was made Special Adviser, Liaison, Lagos to Cross River state.



9ice

9ice was one of a few Nigerians to had a firm grasps on the youth in haydays. He tried converting that capital to political power but unfortunately lost the Oyo House Representatives seat in 2015 in the primaries.

The musician still landed a political appointed under the current Ajimobi led administration as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth matters.



Tony Tetuila

Anthony Olanrewaju Awotoye, popularly known as Tony Tetuila, who hails from Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, contested for the 2015 National Assembly election for the House of Representatives’ seat of his home constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which he later lost.



Kenny Saint Brown

KSB as she is fondly called may not be that relevant today but she is still no pushover in the music industry. She contested for the Lagos state house of assembly Ikeja constituency under the APC but did not win.



Dayo Adeneye

Popular TV presenter and co-founder of Primetime Entertainment, Dayo Adeneye is popularly known as D1 contested for the Ogun State House of Assembly at the Odogbolu constituency under the APC but lost.
